Bucs Defeat Old Dominion (No. 56), 4-2

NORFOLK, Va. (Mar. 26, 2004) - The East Tennessee State men's tennis team defeated No. 56 Old Dominion, 4-2 in a road contest Friday afternoon in Norfolk, Va. The Bucs improve to 8-5 overall, 2-0 in the SoCon with the win. Old Dominion took the early lead in the contest by securing the doubles point. ETSU's Diego Iglesias (Mar del Plata, Argentina) and Moisés Serrano (Bucaramanga, Columbia) defeated Zoltan Csanadi and Adriano Mello at the No. 2 slot 9-7. However, ODU was able to overcome ETSU at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions. The tides turned in singles action as ETSU secured 4 wins from Oscar Posada (Valencia, Venezuela) at No. 2 (7-6, 7-5), Iglesias at No. 3 (6-4, 6-0), Serrano at No. 4 (7-5, 5-7, 6-3), Fernando Fiuri (Villa Maria, Argentina). Felix Insaurralde's (Asunción, Paraguay) match at No. 6 was suspended once the match was decided. The ETSU men's tennis team returns to action tomorrow Mar. 27 to take on UAB.
