ATLANTA (October 11, 2003) - The Buccaneer men's tennis team advanced three in singles action and one pair in doubles action on Friday at the Georgia Tech Invitational.
Alejandro Salazar (Arequipa, Peru), advanced in singles A competition by defeating Georgia Tech's Trevor McLeod 6-7 (10), 6-2, 6-2 and University of South Carolina's Marcus Westman 6-3, 6-4.
Fernando Fiuri (Villa Maria, Argentina) and Diego Iglesias (Mar del Plata, Argentina) also advanced for the Bucs to the semifinals of singles B competition by winning their first two rounds.
In doubles play, Oscar Posada (Valencia, Venezuela) and Salzar won their first match to advance, while Iglesias and Moises Serrano (Buccarmanga, Colombia) fell.
Tournament action for the Buccaneers continues Saturday morning.
