CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (October 3, 2003) - The Buccaneer men's tennis team advanced one in singles action and one pair in doubles action on Saturday at the Icy Hot/ITA All-American Championships hosted by Chattanooga. Alejandro Salazar (Arequipa, Peru) advanced in singles competition by defeating Florida's Jordan Dolberg 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 and Middle Tennessee's Rishan Kurpuppr 6-2, 6-3. Salazar moves on to face Butlers Kevin Gill in the round of 32 on Sunday at 9:00 a.m. Federico Ochoa (Manizales, Columbia), who had also advanced after the first day, lost to Anthony Perkins of Drake 6-0, 6-1. In doubles play, Diego Iglesias (Mar del Plata, Argentina) and Moises Serrano (Bucaramanga, Colombia) won their first two matches and advanced to the round of 32.
