JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Mar. 29, 2005) - Oscar Posada, a sophomore from Valencia, Venezuela, has been named as the Southern Conference's men's tennis player of the week for the week of March 29.
Posada posted three league victories over Furman, Appalachian State and Chattanooga. Posada started his week with a 6-7, 6-1, 6-3 win over Allen Simmons of Furman on March 23. Three days later, Posada defeated Appalachian State's Alex Probst, 6-4, 6-2. Posada finished the week with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Arturo Navarro of Chattanooga on March 27. His three wins this week extended his unbeaten streak to eight straight at the number one singles position. Posada is 9-2 in dual matches this season, including a 6-0 mark in league play.
Posada and the Bucs return to action tomorrow March 30 when they host Winthrop. Match time is set for 2:30 p.m.
