Posada earns main draw in tennis championships

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (September 22, 2005) - East Tennessee State's Oscar Posada (Valencia, Venezuela) has earned a spot in the 2005 ITA All-America Championships main draw, getting a pass on any pre-qualifying or qualifying brackets.  Posada and head men's tennis coach Yaser Zaatini will head to Tulsa, Okla., for the main draw of the ITA's national championships on October 6-9.  

 

Last season, Posada earned Conference player of the year honors and was also conference player of the week and month on several occasions.  Posada was 25-8 during 2005 in singles action and was 10-0 in the conference.  He is a business management major at ETSU.

 

Fall tennis action will begin this weekend for the Buccaneers as they head to Georgia for the Southern Collegiate Invitational.  For more information on the Bucs men's tennis team, visit www.etsubucs.com/mtennis.
