CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (November  7, 2008) - After dropping 10th ranked Nate Schnugg of Georgia Thursday, and Brett Helgeson of Norte Dame Friday afternoon, ETSU men's tennis senior Enrique Olivares' (Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela) magical run came to an end Friday night at the ITA National Indoor Championships, in Charlottesville, Va.

In his first match of the day the preseason No. 31st ranked Olivares had his best showing yet dropping Brett Helgeson of Norte Dame, in straight sets 7-5, 7-5. This marked the second time Olivares and Helgeson have met as the Buc senior revenged a loss to Helgeson in the NCAA Team Championships, last May.

After the victory the ETSU captain advanced to the quarterfinal round, where he would take on No. 7th ranked Justin Kronauge of Ohio State. After winning the first set 7-5, Olivares incredible run would come to an end as Kronauge would rally to take the final two sets, 6-3, 6-2.

Despite the loss Olivares showed why he belongs among the country's elite, outlasting 24 of the top ITA singles players in the nation. Overall, Olivares wraps up a outstanding Fall season, as the senior captain won the Southern Intercollegiate, finished as the runner-up at the Ranked Plus One, while making the semifinals in ITA Mideast Regional Championships.
