SKILLMAN, N.J.(Jan. 4, 2012) – The ETSU men’s tennis team will start the 2011-12 season ranked right where it left off from its fifth-consecutive Atlantic Sun Tournament Championship, as the ITA released its first rankings of the season on Tuesday with the Buccaneers at No. 58.

The Bucs have now been a part of the Campbell/ITA top-75 for five-consecutive weeks dating back to April 19 of last season.

In last year’s championship campaign, ETSU went 17-7 and posted a 9-1 mark in A-Sun play on the way to claiming its fifth-consecutive tournament title with a 4-2 victory over Stetson in the finals. Current Bucs Sander Gille (Kuringen, Belgium) and Juan Ramirez (Asuncion, Paraguay) were named to the All-Tournament Team, while former standout Grega Teraz (Mojstrana, Slovenia) was named A-Sun Tournament MVP. Gille and Teraz also joined Jesus Bandres (Caracas, Venezuela) as First Team All-Conference selections, while Roger Ordeig (Gurb, Spain) was a Second Team honoree.

ETSU begins its quest for its sixth-straight A-Sun title when they take open the spring season against Tulsa in Lexington, Ky. on Friday, Jan. 27 at 3 p.m.
