All invited to men’s tennis NCAA Selection Show, Tuesday

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 29, 2013) – The ETSU men’s tennis team and ETSU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics will host an NCAA Selection Show party on Tuesday inside the Wilder Room of the Carnegie Hotel, beginning at 4:45 p.m.

ETSU invites all fans and media to take part in the celebration. The Carnegie Hotel is located at 1216 West State of Franklin Road, directly across from the ETSU campus. Hors d'oeuvres will be served to all in attendance.

NCAA.com will broadcast the announcement of the 2013 field with a live webcast beginning at 5 p.m. Fans and media are encouraged to arrive ahead of time so everybody can be settled in by the time the show starts.

Winning its seventh consecutive Atlantic Sun Tournament Championship, No. 64 ETSU (13-6, 7-1 A-Sun) will head into the NCAA Tournament on an eight-match winning streak. The Buccaneers were last defeated by Dartmouth on March 23, but have not lost since and avenged a regular season defeat to North Florida by beating the Ospreys, 4-2, in the A-Sun Championship finals.

ETSU will be looking for its first NCAA win since defeating Alabama 4-2 in 2010. The Bucs are 2-4 over their past six NCAA Tournament first-round appearances. ETSU’s other win came in 2008 against Notre Dame. In last year’s tournament, the Buccaneers were sent to Columbus, Ohio to take on then-No. 5 Ohio State, and were defeated, 4-0.
