Yllera advances to backdraw flight final at UVa Invitational

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (Sept. 20, 2014) - Junior Sebastian Yllera (Cinco Saltos, Argentina) advanced to the final round of the Blue Singles backdraw bracket Saturday as ETSU continued play in the UVA Ranked Plus One Invitational in Charlottesville, Va.

Yllera outlasted Old Dominion's Adam Moundir in three sets, 3-6, 6-3, 7-6, in the backdraw semifinals. The Cinco Saltos, Argentina, native will take on George Washington's Julius Tverijonas Sunday in the backdraw final.

Meanwhile, Rogerio Ribeiro (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and David Biosca (Sant Fruitos de Bage, Spain) each advanced to the Blue Singles quarterfinals. Ribeiro was edged by top-seeded Carlos Lopez Villa of Old Dominion, 3-6, 6-2, 7-6, in the quarters.

Biosca and fellow sophomore Diego Nunez (Monterrey, Mexico) teamed up to advance to the Orange Doubles semifinals before falling to Virginia Tech's top-seeded tandem of Contini and Bjerrehus.

Backdraw quarterfinals: Huertas (ETSU) def. Podvinsky (Old Dominion), 7-6, 1-6, 6-2

Backdraw quarterfinals: Dias (George Washington) def. Pabon (ETSU), 6-3, 6-1

Backdraw semifinals: Dias (George Washington) def. Huertas (ETSU), 6-3, 6-3
