ATHENS, Ga. (Sept. 11, 2015) – The East Tennessee State University men’s tennis team began its fall season Friday at the Southern Intercollegiate on the campus of the University of Georgia. The Bucs notched three singles victories.

All three of ETSU’s three singles victories came in straight sets. Diego Nunez (Monterrey, Mexico), Rogerio Ribeirio (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and David Biosca (Sant Fruitos de Bage, Spain) all picked up their first victories of the season.

Nunez, Ribeirio and Biosca all advanced to the round of 32 where they defeated by Amerigo Contini (Virginia Tech), Jose Salazar (Arkansas) and Kai Lemke (Memphis), respectively.

Day two of the Southern Intercollegiate will feature a pair of matches featuring the Bucs. Robert Herrera (Barcelona, Spain) will take Rob Mitchell (Lipscomb) in the consolation bracket and the doubles team of Ribeirio and Biosca will take on Virginia Tech’s team of Amerigo Contini and Andreas Bjerrehus.
