Bucs go 1-1 in matches on day two of the event

ATHENS, Ga. (Sept. 12, 2015) – The East Tennessee State University men’s tennis team went 1-1 in a pair of matches on day two of the Southern Intercollegiate Saturday in Athens, Ga. The Bucs dropped their lone doubles match of the day but won their singles matchup.

In the round of 32, the doubles team of David Biosca (San Fruitos de Bage, Spain) and Roger Ribeirio (Sao Paulo, Brazil) dropped a tilt to Amerigo Contini and Andreas Bjerrehus from Virginia Tech, 8-6. Contini knocked off ETSU’s Diego Nunez (Monterrey, Mexico) out of the singles tournament Friday.

Robert Herrera (Barcelona, Spain) got ETSU’s win for the day in the consolation bracket with a win over Rob Mitchell of Lipscomb, 6-2 and 6-4. Herrera, now 1-1 during the fall season, will advance to take on College of Charleston’s Vasity Kichigin Sunday.
