TULSA, Okla. (Oct. 4, 2015) – Sophomore Robert Herrera (Barcelona, Spain) picked up a pair of wins Sunday to lead the East Tennessee State University men’s tennis team in day two of the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla. Collectively, the Bucs went 3-1 moving their record in the event to 7-2.
All four of ETSU’s matches Sunday were two-set affairs. Herrera notched his pair of victories over Lars de Boer of William & Mary and Purdue’s Mateus Silva. Diego Nunez (Monterrey, Mexico) picked up a win over Memphis’ Kai Lemke, but Rogerio Ribeiro (Sao Paulo, Brazil) fell to Sebastian Rey of Tulane.
The Bucs will be back in action in Tulsa Monday. ETSU currently has three matches scheduled but could have more if its players advance.
