Bucs earn highest national ranking since 2013

SKILLMAN, N.J. (March 1, 2016) – After a weekend of facing a pair of ranked opponents, the ETSU men’s tennis team enters this week’s Oracle/ITA Rankings itself coming in at No. 63. It is the highest national ranking the Bucs have received since the 2013 season when they were ranked No. 57.

The 63rd-ranked Bucs are 3-5 this spring, but all five losses came against ranked teams. ETSU’s three victories have been against Portland, Penn and Appalachian State. The five losses have been against No. 43 Georgia Tech, No. 11 Wake Forest, No. 45 Washington, No. 63 Georgia State and No. 16 Georgia. All of these rankings reflect their rankings at the time they played ETSU.

ETSU has a pair of matches in Birmingham, Ala. this weekend to possibly improve its national ranking. Starting the weekend off the Bucs take on UAB Saturday at 1 p.m. Following its matchup with the Blazers, ETSU will open Southern Conference play Sunday with an 11 a.m. match at Samford.
