Bucs make it four straight weeks ranked in the national poll

SKILLMAN, N.J. (March 22, 2016) – The ETSU men’s tennis team came in at No. 57 in the latest Oracle/ITA Rankings released Tuesday. It is the fourth consecutive week that the Bucs have been in the national poll. In addition to the team’s ranking, David Biosca (Sant Fruitos De Bage, Spain) was tabbed the 86th-ranked singles player and the duo of Rogerio Ribeiro (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and Biosca came in at No. 55 in the doubles rankings.

“The team is holding steady,” said ETSU Head Coach Yaser Zaatini. “I am glad to see we are being rewarded for the hard work and success, however, we have to stay focused and hungry.”

Biosca has been the Bucs’ No. 1 singles player all season long and has an 8-4 record out of that position. The reigning SoCon Player of the Year owns ETSU’s lone victory over a nationally ranked singles player this season as he knocked off No. 21 Wayne Montgomery of Georgia on Feb. 28.

The tandem of the Biosca and Ribeiro has been the Bucs’ top duo this spring with a team-best 6-4 record. This is the third time this season that the duo of Biosca and Ribeiro has been ranked in the national polls

Biosca, Ribeiro and the rest of the Bucs will return to action this weekend when they host Wofford Friday and UNC Greensboro Saturday at the Dave Mullins Tennis Complex. Both matches are scheduled for a 2:30 p.m. start time.
