Bucs look to clinch regular season conference title Saturday

CHARLESTON, S.C. (April 15, 2016) – The 52nd-ranked ETSU men’s tennis team will wrap up its regular season Saturday at The Citadel. The Bucs, who are 14-5 overall and 6-0 in the SoCon, will have the opportunity to clinch the regular season SoCon Championship. It would be the Bucs’ 16th regular season conference title in program history.

The Bucs, who have won 11 straight matches dating back to early March, are led by the duo of Robert Herrera (Barcelona, Spain) and David Biosca (Sant Fruitos De Bage, Spain). Herrera and Biosca are a combined 32-6 this season and have won 20 straight matches between them. Additionally, Biosca is currently ranked in both the national singles and doubles rankings. In singles, Biosca is ranked No. 78 and No. 51 in doubles when teamed with Rogerio Ribeiro (Sao Paulo, Brazil).

The Bulldogs enter Saturday’s match with an 8-27 overall record. The Citadel’s top player this spring has been Artemie Amari with 14 victories. Michael Anzalone, Nicholas Bradley, Matthew Henson has also reached double figures in wins as well with 11 victories a piece.
