Fifty Buccaneer student-athletes earn SoCon All-Academic honors

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (June 26, 2017) – ETSU had 50 student-athletes earn academic honors for the spring semester as the Southern Conference announced its all-academic awards on Monday.


Stiegwardt named new ETSU Director of Tennis

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (June 22, 2017) – ETSU Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Richard Sander announced Thursday that former Auburn and LSU assistant coach Martin Stiegwardt has been named the new Director of Tennis and Men’s Tennis head coach for the Buccaneers.


ETSU men earn second-straight Commissioner’s Cup

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (May 30, 2017) – With the completion of the spring seasons of league competition, the ETSU men’s programs were awarded its second-straight Southern Conference Commissioner’s Cup, which is the all-sport trophy that is presented to the conference’s best all-around men’s program.

(May 4, 2017) – Junior Ioanna Markesini (Athens, Greece) and senior David Biosca (Sant Fruitos de Bage, Spain) were selected by the NCAA committee to compete in the NCAA Championship as individuals. The singles competition will be conducted May 24-29 at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga. at the conclusion of the team championship.

Men’s Tennis draws No.19 South Carolina in NCAA Tournament

ATHENS, Ga. (Sept. 23, 2016) – Freshman Miguel Este (Caracas, Venezuela) paced the ETSU men’s tennis team in its opening day of competition of the fall season Friday in Athens, Ga. JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 22, 2016) – The ETSU men’s tennis team will kick off its fall season this weekend at the Southern Intercollegiate. This marks the 49th season of the tournament, which will include 170 singles players, 81 doubles pairs and 32 different schools competing this weekend in Athens, Ga.


Biosca comes in at No. 47 in ITA Preseason Rankings

SKILLMAN, N.J. (Sept. 13, 2016) – ETSU men’s tennis player David Biosca (Sant Fruitos De Bage, Spain) came in at No. 47 in the Oracle/ITA Preseason National Singles Rankings on Tuesday. It marks the third straight season that Biosca opens the season in national rankings as he was ranked No. 97 two years ago and No. 88 entering last season.


Zaatini adds Miguel Este for the 2016-17 season
