TULSA, Okla. & PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. (Oct. 2, 2016) – Robert Herrera (Barcelona, Spain) forced two victories yesterday to open the pre-qualifying rounds at the 2016 ITA Men’s All-American Championships but fell in three sets on Sunday in the Round of 64 to No. 9 Chi-Shan Jao.
Herrera – who only dropped one set in the first two rounds – fell to No. 9 Chi-Shan Jao of Tulane in three sets. Herrera took the first set 6-4 but fell 6-0 and 6-1 to end his run in the pre-qualifying bracket
Marina Espana (Castellar Del Valles, Spain) and Wenceslao Albin (Salliquelo, Argentina) each played a match in the consolation round of their respective tournaments but results of both matches have not been posted. Results of the consolation matchups will be posted when received.
