JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Jan. 31, 2018) – The ETSU men’s tennis team will hit the road once again to take on Marquette and Wisconsin. The Bucs will play the Marquette Golden Eagles on Thursday, followed by the Wisconsin Badgers on Saturday.

About the Bucs
The Bucs are off to an impressive start, as they hold a record of 2-1. They have wins coming from Florida A&M and Florida Gulf Coast. Sergi Fontcuberta (Barcelona, Spain) is currently 2-0 in singles. Fontcuberta and Miguel Este (Caracas, Venezuela) are 3-0 in doubles action so far this season. The Bucs have a 6-2 team record in doubles.
Marquette will come into Thursday’s showdown at 0-1 with a 7-0 loss from Iowa. The Golden Eagles will host the Bucs in their home opener and continue to play at home in four more matches following. Marquette has a roster of 11 and return two top seniors after finishing last season 15-9.
The Badgers currently have a record of 2-2 with wins over DePaul and Nebraska. Wisconsin fell short to No. 13 Mississippi State and Kentucky. The Badgers are 0-2 against the Bucs, with the latest meeting in 2009. Wisconsin’s doubles are off to a hot start with a 4-0 record. Last season they compiled a record of 23-3 in doubles action.
