TULSA, Okla. (Oct. 6, 2019) – The ETSU Men’s Tennis team will send Frazier Rengifo (Cali, Colombia) to Tulsa, Okla. this week to take part in the ITA All-American Championships hosted by Tulsa. The event started on Saturday, Oct. 5 with the pre-qualifying rounds.
Rengifo will not take the court until Monday, Oct. 7 when the Buccaneer junior will look to make his way through the qualifying round (Oct. 7-8) and into the main draw which is set to take place Oct. 9-13.
Rengifo began his fall season at the Gamecock Fall Invitational from Sept. 20-22. The ETSU junior finished with a 1-3 overall record in singles play, besting Southern Methodist’s Huntley Allen in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4.
The male tennis players are set to play at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center as Tulsa hosts the men and women’s ITA All-American Championship in the same city for the first time ever in ITA history. Nearly 500 of the best men’s tennis players from across the country will be participating in the event. The men’s championship will be on Oct. 13 and will be aired on ESPNU, marking another milestone for the ITA with the first live-air broadcast.
