The one-day meet beings at 10 a.m. with the javelin throw and shot put. The track events begin at 1:45 p.m. with the women’s 4x100m relay. Other men’s and women’s events throughout the day include the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m steeplechase, high jump, long jump, triple jump, pole vault, discus throw, hammer throw and 400m hurdles and 4x400m relays.
This will be ETSU’s first meet since April 21, when the men’s team earned its third A-Sun Outdoor Track and Field title at North Florida’s Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla. The Bucs scored 223 points through the two-day championship, defeating Kennesaw State by 2.5 points to secure the smallest margin of victory in the 17-year history of the event.
The women’s side finished fourth in the championships, but walked away having scored 109 points – its highest since joining the conference in 2005-06. Freshman Katerina Vodova (Humpolec, Czech Republic) broke the A-Sun Championship record in the heptathlon, scoring 5,152 points to defeat KSU’s Christine Leverette by 197 points.
