SPARTANBURG, S.C. (July 10, 2018) – The ETSU Department of Athletics turned in a record-breaking academic year in 2017-18, as the Southern Conference announced its Honor Roll list Tuesday afternoon.
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (July 9, 2018) -- The Southern Conference announced its Academic All-Conference selections for the spring semester Monday afternoon, as ETSU placed 47 on the prestigious list.
EUGENE, Ore. (June 7, 2018) -- Kyra Atkins (Greer, S.C.) produced an historic result on a big stage. Making her debut at the NCAA Outdoor National Championships on Thursday, the junior set a new ETSU record in the women's 100 meter hurdles and earned 2nd Team All-American honors.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (June 6, 2018) ETSUs Kyra Atkins (Greer, S.C.) makes her debut on college track and fields biggest stage when she competes in the women’s 100 meter hurdles Thursday at the NCAA National Championships in Eugene, Ore. The semifinal round begins at 8:02 pm EDT and Atkins will run in the third and final heat race of the day. The top two finishers from each heat and the next two best overall times advance to the finals at 7:12 pm on Saturday, June 9.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (May 29, 2018) For her unparalleled work in the classroom, the community, and in competition, ETSU senior Macy Carrier (Bluff City, Tenn.) has been named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District Women’s Track/Cross Country Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (May 29, 2018) -- For the third consecutive year and fourth time in program history, the ETSU men’s athletics program was awarded the Southern Conference Commissioner’s Cup, which is the all-sport trophy that is presented to the conference’s best all-around men’s program.
TAMPA, Fla. (May 26, 2018) Traveling from Johnson City, Tennessee to Eugene, Oregon, via Tampa, Florida, is a roundabout trip. For Kyra Atkins (Greer, S.C.), it was the preferred route. The ETSU junior clinched a spot in the womens 100 meter hurdles in next month’s NCAA Outdoor National Championships with an 11th-place finish in the East Preliminary meet Saturday at USF Track and Field Stadium.
TAMPA, Fla. (May 25, 2018) -- Kyra Atkins (Greer, S.C.) has more work to do at the NCAA Outdoor East Preliminary meet. The junior advanced to Saturday's finals of the women's 100 meter hurdles after qualifying heats Friday afternoon.
