Three Buccaneers Compete at Sea Ray Relays

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (April 10, 2004) - Three ETSU track and field athletes competed at the 38th annual Sea Ray Relays hosted by the University of Tennessee. Junior Brad Yewer (Newbury, England) competed in the 1500 meters finishing 12th overall with his time of 3:52.36. Junior Kim Simmons (Knoxville, Tenn.) ran in the 800 meters finishing with a time of 2:16.75. Also competing for the Bucs was James Rainer (Alcoa, Tenn.), who opened his outdoor season and won his heat in the100 meter dash with a time of 10.70, which placed him tenth overall. ETSU participated in the meet hoping for the chance of earning a regional qualifying mark, however they fell short. Still the experience will prove to be invaluable as the squad prepares for upcoming meets including the Southern Conference meet.
