MACON, Ga. (Feb. 6, 2008) - For the third time in his first two seasons at ETSU, Jarrod Burton (Bastian, Va.) earned the Atlantic Sun Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week award, the conference office announced on Wednesday.
At the Texas Roadhouse Carolina Classic, Burton defeated all the collegiate competitors in the weight throw in finishing second overall in the event. In the shot put, he placed seventh, fifth among college student athletes.
Burton, an education major from of Bastian, Va., unleashed a heave of 55-08.25 (16.97m), marking his second longest mark of the 2008 campaign. In the shot put, Burton made his first appearance of the indoor season by finishing seventh in the event. Burton let one fly a distance of 52-04.75 (15.97m) on his first of six tosses.
