JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Dec. 2, 2010) - The ETSU men's and women's Track and Field teams are set to open its indoor season this Friday and Saturday as the Bucs head to the Appalachian Invitational Indoor Track Meet, in Boone, NC.
The two-day meet includes nine running events and six field events for both men and women with a majority of the events scheduled for Saturday.
The weight throw and 5000m run will be contested on Friday at 5:30 p.m., while running and field events are slated to start at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
"We love going to this meet each year, as it is not only a test to see where everyone is, but also a reward for the kids who have trained so hard all fall," said assistant coach Eli Sunquist. "We as a staff are extremely excited to kick off this indoor season at Appalachian State."
"Our staff did a tremendous job of recruiting this year, and we are very excited about how both our men's and women's teams look." Sunquist added. "I think we are most proud of how our women's team has vastly improved in just one short year. This meet will not only be a great way to see improvements from last year, but also serve as an opportunity to showcase many of our newcomers."
