Vote Scott for Crons Brand Achiever Award

Wednesday, February 01, 2012

MACON, Ga. (Feb. 1, 2012) – With his record-breaking heptathlon performance in January, freshman K’vonte Scott (Virginia Beach, Va.) has been named one of eight finalists for the Atlantic Sun’s Crons Brand Achiever Award.

The award, given to one student-athlete from one of the A-Sun’s 10 affiliated schools, recognizes the most notable achievement from the month via a fan vote.

Scott rewrote the ETSU track and field record books in just his third meet as a Buccaneer, scoring 4,834 points in the heptathlon back on Jan. 22 at the CNU Captains Invitational and Multis to break Nic Chernikow’s previous school mark of 4,820 points. In the process of doing so, Scott set personal bests in the 60m (7.29), 1000m (2:56.69), pole vault (4.10m), long jump (6.55m) and shot put (10.38m). The performance also subsequently earned Scott his first A-Sun Field Athlete of the Week.

Crons is a national brand with its message-themed and motivational merchandise and apparel already in use by more than 500 schools and organizations in 25 states.

Crons perpetuates its message through its Achievers Program, designed to teach students the importance of setting and achieving goals.
