Thoughts from Coach Watts
On today’s victories: “Kyra, Simeon and Colbie had nice wins in their events to lead the women and men's team's today. Kyra, as usual, was very solid in the hurdles. Simeon ran a meet record and personal best to win the men's mile run. Colbie had maybe the most surprising performance of the meet with her win and personal best in the women's mile run.”
On senior day: “We had a fantastic senior day with 16 of our athletes and family members getting recognized for their performance and service to ETSU and our Track and Field and cross country program. We continue to have tremendous support from our parents and alum, and I am very thankful for them caring about the kids and our program.
On Johnson winning Athlete of the Meet: “I want to congratulate Ben Johnson on his special achievement.”
On the support staff: “Our officials continue to do a fantastic job, and we could not get it done with out them.”
On next week’s meet: “Our teams need to get ready for a quick turnaround as we head up to Liberty University for a meet this coming Saturday. That will be our final competition before the SoCon Championships, and I look forward to seeing how we respond.”
