NEW ORLEANS (July 25, 2019) – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its all-academic team honors earlier this week, and both the ETSU men’s and women’s teams earned the accolade.

The Buccaneer men registered a team grade point average of 3.20 this past 2018-19 season, while the women posted a 3.13 team GPA. The men had the highest mark of any program in the Southern Conference, while ETSU and Furman were the only two SoCon schools to have both its men’s and women’s teams receive the honor.

This past season, the Buccaneer women had 15 student-athletes receive SoCon All-Academic Team honors, while the men placed 13 student-athletes on the list. In addition, ETSU’s men’s and women’s programs combined for 43 SoCon Honor Roll recipients – 23 by the women and 20 for the men.

Overall, a total of 366 teams were honored by the USTFCCCA with 227 of those being women’s programs and 139 coming from the men’s side.

To be eligible for USTFCCCA All-Academic status, teams must hold a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher.
