2011 Indoor: Competed in the 5000m at the Niswonger Invitational.

2010 Cross Country: Raced in two meets for ETSU … made season debut at the Covered Bridge Open in Boone, N.C. on Sept. 3.

2010 Outdoor: Competed at the Catamount Classic and Upstate Invitational as a freshman … finished fifth in the 5000m at the meet in Spartanburg.

2010 Indoor: Made Buccaneer track and field debut by running the 5000m at the Niswonger Invitational.

2009 Cross Country: Did not race for the Bucs.

About Essler: Multi-sport athlete at Cookeville High School as he lettered in both cross country and soccer … named "Most Improved" in cross country as a senior. Received the "Coaches Award" in soccer during his junior and senior seasons.

Personal: Son of Steve Essler and Brenda Jones … born Oct. 11, 1989 … majoring in nursing.
