Men’s tennis squanders 3-0 lead to Georgia State

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Feb. 19, 2017) – Even going up 3-0 early in the match, the ETSU men’s tennis team let the match slip as Georgia State rallied for four unanswered points in singles play to take the 4-3 decision at Dave Mullins Tennis Complex on Sunday.

Bailey’s late heroics give ETSU extra inning victory over Chippewas

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Feb. 19, 2017) – Junior Christian Bailey (Kingsport, Tenn.) was ETSU baseball’s hero in the series finale with Central Michigan on Sunday as he provided the walk-off hit in extra innings at Thomas Stadium. The Kingsport, Tenn. native made a gutsy dash for home plate in the ninth inning with two outs to give the Bucs the game tying run to push the game into extras. Bailey not only scored the game-winning run, but he slapped the game-winning, walk-off hit in the bottom of the 10th to give ETSU the 2017 opening series win over the Chippewas.

ETSU drops 6-4 decision to UNCW at Buccaneer Invitational

CHARLESTON, S.C. (Feb. 19, 2017) – Despite ETSU tying the game at one in the bottom of the fourth, UNCW broke through with a run in the fifth and four more in the sixth en route to defeating the Buccaneers, 6-4, on Sunday in the finale of the Buccaneer Invitational from the Charleston Southern Softball Complex.

GREENSBORO, N.C. (February 18, 2017) – Despite a furious comeback in the final minute of the game as the Buccaneers scored 11 of the final 16 points, the ETSU Women’s Basketball team fell at UNCG, 73-62 on Saturday afternoon inside Fleming Gymnasium.

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Feb. 18, 2017) – The ETSU baseball team attempted a late rally in the ninth, but the Bucs couldn’t muster up a game-tying run to fall 8-7 to Central Michigan in game two of the 2017 opening series on Saturday at Thomas Stadium.

Carter homers, but Bucs fall to Charleston Southern

CHARLESTON, S.C. (Feb. 18, 2017) – Senior Taylor Carter (Brazil, Ind.) belted a three-run home run in the top of the seventh inning, but despite having the tying run at second, ETSU couldn’t rally past Charleston Southern as CSU held on for a 4-3 win on Saturday at the Buccaneer Invitational.
