Tuesday, April 18, 2000

Johnson City, Tenn. -- Jim Beverly, a senior center from Kingsport, Tenn., has signed a free agent contract with the Carolina Panthers.

Beverly was a four-year starter of the Buccaneer football team and consistently earned the highest grade amongst the offensive linemen. During his career, Beverly helped classmate Brandon Walker to become the first ETSU running back in school history to run for over 4,000 yards. He was also a two-time recipient of the Iron Buc Award, given to the player who shows leadership in the weightroom and in the off-season conditioning program.

Beverly will report to the Panthers two-day mini-camp in a couple of weeks in Charlotte.
