(Apr. 22, 2002) -- The East Tennessee State women's golf moved up to fifth place after two rounds in the Southern Conference Women's Golf Championships from Wescott Plantation in North Charleston, S.C. The Buccaneers began the day in sixth place, but shot a 312 in the second round to move up to fifth position (317-312=629). ETSU is 32 strokes behind team leader, Furman University (298-299=597), who leads UNC Greensboro by three strokes. All five Buccaneer golfers shot the same or improved their score from Sunday's first round of play. East Tennessee State senior Mimmie Dymling (Sollentuna, Sweden) leads the Bucs through Monday's second round, shooting a 74 to capture third place at 5-over-par (75-74=149). Fellow senior Catalina Zuluaga (Cali, Colombia) improved her first round score by three strokes, firing a second-round 78 to move up to a tie for 19th (81-78=159). Freshman Alysa Few (London, Ontario) finished the second round in a tie for 22nd (80-80=160) after shooting her second consecutive 80 on Monday. The final two Buccaneers found themselves tied for 24th after the second round. Sophomore Kristen Fletcher (Cookeville, Tenn.) and freshman Danielle O'Reilly (Whistler, British Columbia) have shot matching scores in each of the first two rounds (81-80=161). The Buccaneer women's golfers return to the links tomorrow morning for the third and final round of the Southern Conference Women's Golf Championships from Wescott Plantation in North Charleston, S.C.
