(October, 16, 2003)- Chattanooga's Amelie Fogelberg lofted a corner kick to the front of the net and found Elfa Erlingsdottir in the second overtime for a 1-0 sudden victory win over in-state Southern Conference rival East Tennessee State Thursday evening at Finley Stadium. Erlingsdottir jumped up in the middle of the crowd and sent a header over Buccaneer keeper Heather Sanden (Manassas, Va.) at the 101:08 mark for the Lady Mocs' first overtime win of the season. Chattanooga controlled the pace of the game and took 31 shots, most from 30 yards out. The game was the third double overtime game of the season for the Bucs and the first loss in double overtime. The first two were wins over Radford and Georgia Southern. The Bucs were outshot by the Mocs 4-31, and were not allowed a single shot in either overtime period and held to one in the second half. Sanden had 10 saves for ETSU, while Chattanooga's keeper Stacey Matthiessen notched her fifth shutout of the year. Buccaneer soccer will continue SoCon play on Sunday, when the Bucs (9-3-0, 4-2-0) host Wofford at Liberty Bell Field. The match is set to kick off at 2:00 p.m.
