JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (May 4, 2005) - East Tennessee State women's golf coach Stefanie Reynolds announced on Wednesday that Lucy Gould (Bargoed, Wales) has signed a national letter of intent to play for the Lady Bucs beginning with the 2005-06 season.

The Welsh girls champion in both 2002 and 2003, Gould represented Wales as a member of its Under-18 team in 2002, 2003 and 2004. She is currently a member of the Welsh Ladies Elite Squad.

"Lucy's passion for the game of golf is infectious," Reynolds said. "I'm excited to add such as enthusiastic and unyielding competitor to our program."

            A skilled athlete who also plays soccer and field hockey, Gould will be joining an ETSU squad which is coming off a successful 2004-05. The Lady Bucs captured two individual team titles last season, and enjoyed several Southern Conference individual awards, including Reynolds' selection as SoCon Coach of the Year, and first-team All-SoCon selections for junior Ashley Barton (Seffner, Fla.) and freshman Maria Ringdahl (Oland, Sweden).

            Gould said her decision to attend ETSU was easy.

            "They have a great facility, a great coach, a good location, awesome teammates, and very friendly people in Johnson City," Gould said. "I want to develop my game to the highest possible level at ETSU, and I hope that one day leads to the professional tour."
