CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (Nov. 6, 2004) - Chattanooga's volleyball team rallied from a two-game deficit to defeat East Tennessee State Saturday night at Maclellan Gym 23-30, 29-31, 30-16, 31-29, 16-14 to complete the season sweep of the Bucs. With the win UTC improves to 7-19, 4-10 SoCon while the Bucs fall to 4-22, 3-10 SoCon for the year.

The Bucs went up 13-7 in the first game and UTC clawed within 26-23, but the Bucs won the final four points. In game two, ETSU led 12-6, but
After the break, UTC (7-19 overall, 4-10 SoCon) dominated game three behind five kills from Durfee. Game four was a see-saw battle, but Ramsay had four late kills as UTC won seven of the game's last 11 points for a 31-29 win. Ramsay and Ball both had six kills in the fourth game.
In the deciding game, ETSU (4-21, 3-10) went up 8-3 behind Scandiffio's arm, but Chattanooga tied it at 8-all. ETSU went back ahead 11-8 with a pair of kills from Piercy. UTC stayed closed, but ETSU had a shot at match point with a 14-13 lead, but Ramsay picked up a huge kill to tie the match at 14-all. Ball and Ramsay combined for a block to give UTC the lead and a Durfee hit was unreturnable at match point.
