HUMBLE, Texas (March 17, 2006) - The ETSU men's golf team is taking a familiar approach yet again this week at the GCAA Hall of Fame Invitational. For the second straight tournament, the Bucs currently have three players in the Top 10 and are just two strokes back of the team lead after first round play Friday at the Redstone Tournament Course.

In one of the toughest fields they have faced all season, the Buccaneers posted a 7-over-par 295 to place third, just one stroke back of second place Oklahoma and two strokes back of early leader, Texas. Individually, junior Rhys Davies (Bridgend, Wales) and sophomore Gareth Shaw are currently tied for third with two other players at even-par, five strokes off the pace set by leader Anthony Kim of Oklahoma.

Along with Davies and Shaw, sophomore Cian McNamara (Limerick, Ireland) is also in the Top 10, tied for seventh after posting a 1-over 73 on the first day. Other ETSU results include freshman Adam Hodkinson (Dore, England), who is tied for 42nd, and freshman Jordan Findlay (Fraserburgh, Scotland), who is tied for 90th.

Second round play in the GCAA Hall of Fame Invitational will continue on Saturday, with third round play scheduled for Sunday. For more on the event, visit Golfstat.com for live results, or click on ETSUBucs.com at the completion of each day's play for a full wrap up.
