Escobedo/Serrano bring home victory in men's tennis doubles at USC

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (October 16, 2005) - The men's tennis team wrapped up play on Sunday at the University of South Carolina fall tournament. 

In B1 doubles, Daniel Escobedo (Zocatecas, Mexico) and Sebastain Serrano (Cartagena, Columbia)  defeated Franklyn Emmanuel and Dananjayz Mayadunne, 8-1, in the final round to take the victory.  In the final round of A1 doubles, Juan Crosa (Asuncion, Paraguay) and Oscar Posada (Valencia, Venezuela) fell to Jaime Cuellar and Geraldo Knorr, 8-3, in the final round. 

 

In A2 singles action, Crosa defeated Joe Bates of Wake Forest, 6-2, 6-4 in the semifinals to advance to the final round where he lost to Ralph Knupfer of Rice, 6-2, 6-0.
