RICHMOND, Va. (Sept. 3, 2005) - East Tennessee State University volleyball players Brittany Kessel (Libertyville, Ill.) and Jennifer Sartor (Toronto, Ontario) have been named the VCU Third Degree Sportswear Invitational all-tournament team following their performances this weekend in Richmond, Va.
Kessel lifted the Lady Bucs to a victory over UNC Greensboro on Friday, belting a match-high 18 kills on 36 attempts, hitting .361 for the match. The junior totaled 26 kills for the weekend, averaging 2.89 per game.
Sartor contributed 17 kills against VCU on Saturday, hitting .353 for the match. Sartor was also one of the Lady Buc's top hitters against UNCG, hitting .444 with 15 kills. The junior slammed 41 kills in three matches, averaging 2.93 kills a game with a .314 hitting percentage for the weekend.
The Lady Bucs went 2-1 over the weekend, picking up a 3-2 win over UNCG and a 3-1 victory against Radford. ETSU narrowly missed a third win, falling to VCU, 3-2.
