MACON, Ga. (March 8, 2006) - The Atlantic Sun Conference today announced the women's basketball all-academic honorees and newcomer UNF topped the list with 12 student-athletes receiving honors. In total, 77 A-Sun women's basketball student-athletes received recognition for their work in the classroom.
Fifteen women had grade point averages of 3.8 or better. Belmont's Jenny Conkle and Megan Riddle along with Florida Atlantic's Sharia Young and Stetson's Jaclyn Piloto each posted a 4.0 in the fall.
After UNF, was Gardner-Webb, who had 11 student-athletes, earn all-academic honors, while Mercer had 10.
To be named an A-Sun All-Academic, a student-athlete must achieve a 3.0 or higher GPA in the classroom. The two candidates from ETSU are:
