The NSCAA honor is just another in a long list of awards for Ashton, who has become the most decorated player in ETSU women's soccer history. For example, earlier this year she became the first ETSU player ever to be named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America University Division second team.
Ashton has rewritten the ETSU record books during her four years at ETSU by becoming the Bucs career leader in goals (35), assists (24) and shots (159). She played in 68 games and started in 67 during her career. She was named the A-Sun Player of the Week twice during her senior season and was named to the A-Sun All-Conference second team. She was named to the second team all Southern Conference two years in a row her sophomore and junior years.
Ashton has a team high 3.897 GPA and is enrolled in the honors biology and pre-med program with a minor in philosophy. Ashton has been on the dean's list at ETSU all four years. Ashton was named to the National Dean's List for 2005 and is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society (2005), the Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society (2005), and the Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Society (2002-04).
