Kennesaw State (18-13, 2-5) jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning, but the Bucs answered with four runs in the bottom of the frame and never trailed again. Senior C.J. Lee (Bristol, Va.) led off the inning with a single to left field, and after stealing second, scored on senior Justin Aughey's (Davie, Fla.) single to right field. Freshman Danny Petro (Atlanta, Ga.) doubled down the left field line, and freshman Ryan Self (Mt. Juliet, Tenn.) drew a walk, loading the bases. Sophomore Troy Mendez's (Roswell, Ga.) infield single scored Aughey with the second ETSU run, and sophomore Ben Allen (Kingsport, Tenn.) evened the contest on a walk. Freshman Tanner Moore's (Chattanooga, Tenn.) RBI groundout capped the scoring in the inning and gave the Bucs the lead.
Aughey pushed the advantage to two runs with his second home run of the season in the second inning, a line shot over the left field wall.
The Bucs (21-12, 8-2) plated two more runs in the fourth on Petro's two-RBI single into left field, pushing their advantage to 7-3.
Junior Anthony Russell (Waldorf, Md.) singled to center field in the fourth inning, extending his hitting streak to eight games and hitting safely for the 29th time in 33 games this season. Aughey finished the day 3-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBI; ending a triple short of the cycle.
Langston (6-2) struck out five and allowed just three earned runs, notching his second complete game of the season. Owl starter Casey Rogers allowed seven runs on 11 hits in four innings of work, falling to 3-1 in his first start of the season.
