RIO GRANDE, P.R. (March 2, 2008) - Sophomore Seamus Power (Waterford, Ireland) posted the low round of the day for the ETSU men's golf team, firing a 4-under-par 68 to help the No. 24 Buccaneers to an impressive fifth place finish Sunday in the highly competitive Puerto Rico Classic at the Rio Mar Country Club's River Course.
While Power was the top individual for the Bucs on Sunday, senior Gareth Shaw (Lisburn, Northern Ireland) posted the best tournament finish for ETSU, firing an even par 72 on Sunday and ending the event tied for fourth at 5-under 211 (70-69-72). "We shot our low round of the tournament today, and obviously this was a good tournament and finish for us," said ETSU head coach Fred Warren. "Gareth had a really good tournament and Seamus played a great round today. It was a good showing."
