TUCSON, Ariz.  (Jan. 29, 2008) - ETSU sophomore Seamus Power (Waterford, Ireland) posted a 4-under par 68 in Tuesday's third and final round of the PING-Arizona Intercollegiate, finishing an impressive fourth on the individual leaderboard at the Arizona National Golf Club.

Along with Power, senior Gareth Shaw (Lisburn, Northern Ireland) also ended the day at 4-under and placed ninth individually, helping propel the Buccaneers to a solid fifth place finish in their first tournament of the spring with a total score of 3-over 855 (274-299-282). The Bucs ended the event 23 strokes back of team champion Tennessee.

"We've had three months off, but I don't necessarily think we were rusty," said ETSU head coach Fred Warren. "We just made some mistakes that cost us, especially in the second round, but we did a lot of good things in the first round and the third rounds. This was a desert course which is a different look for many of our guys and you can post some really high scores on a course like this. So overall, I think we did well."

Power, who finished eight strokes off the pace of individual champion Kevin Chappell of UCLA, ended the event with three par or better rounds, including two rounds in the 60s (67-71-68). Meanwhile, Shaw also posted a pair of sub-70 rounds, firing a 69 in the first round.

Other ETSU results included an even par 71 from freshman Rhys Enoch (Cornwall, England) on the final day, placing him tied for 35^th. Freshman Simon Doherty (Belfast, Northern Ireland), who was the first round leader, and senior Cian McNamara (Limerick, Northern Ireland) both finished tied for 53^rd.
