The format for the Vanderbilt Invitational includes six divisions in singles and two divisions in doubles. Each division encompasses an "A" and "B" group, which each has four players in singles and four teams in doubles. The winner of each group is determined through round robin play.
At the conclusion of round robin play, players/teams from both group "A" and "B" will face the player/team with their identical seed in the other group.
Competing in the white division senior Oscar Posada returned to the court for the first time since the 2006 spring season. He fell to David Simon of
"To see Oscar on the court again is just so incredible. As his coach I am cautiously optimistic about the things I see in him. I think at some point he will regain his form and my hopes are for him to finish his career out well," said head coach Yaser Zaatini.

Competing in the gray division, Sebastian Serrano (Cartagena, Colombia) defeated Simon Childs of Louisville, 6-3, 6-3 before falling to Chris Racz of Tennessee, 3-6, 6-3, 10-5, while Enrique Olivares (Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela) defeated Austen Childs of Louisville, 5-7, 6-2, 10-5 and Davey Sandgren of Tennessee 6-1, 6-3.

"Today was a great beginning of the end of a great era in ETSU tennis. We have four seniors who have been part of a special time in ETSU tennis. The guys have shown a lot of commitment and it's been incredible to work with them. Lisandro (Picardo) showed a lot of heart and courage in his match today and Enrique (Olivares) never stops to amaze us with his wicked forearm. Again, to see Oscar on the court was really special and in doubles today he looked better than ever. We're starting to see the flashes of his greatness again," added Zaatini.
The Bucs will continue play in the Vanderbilt Invitational facing host school Vanderbilt in singles. The final match of the day will begin at 4:30 p.m. CST where the Bucs will face
