NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 29, 2007) -The ETSU volleyball team was defeated by Belmont Saturday in three games, 27-30, 27-30, 27-30.

 

"We had some good moments in the match that the coaches and I were proud of," said head coach Lindsey Devine.

 

The Bucs were led by freshman Laura Waddell (Lynchburg, Va.), who had 11 kills on the day. Kaena Apana (Waianae, Hawaii), collected 31 digs for the Bucs defensively tying her own conference and school record that she set last year against Lipscomb, while Callie Kiselich (Colorado Springs, Colo.), had eight kills and five blocks.

 

"Laura Waddell had a good offensive match today," Devine said. "Kaena also did well as she had 31 digs in the game."

 

Amanda Youell (Middleburg, Fla.), had 26 assists and four blocks for the Bucs. Freshman Britney Loomis (Michigan City, Ind.), tallied six kills and four blocks.

 

With the loss the Bucs drop to 11-9 overall and 3-1 in conference. The Bucs will head back on the road next week as they will take on UT Chattanooga on Wednesday at 7 p.m., and USC Upstate on Thursday at 6 p.m.
