JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (March 26, 2009) - After winning its last 27 straight Atlantic Sun Conference matches the ETSU men's tennis team looks to extend it's A-Sun unbeaten streak as the Bucs welcome league rivals North Florida and Jacksonville to the Tri-Cities this weekend. The No. 60-ranked Bucs will face off against UNF with a 2:30 p.m., contest Friday, before battling JU at 2:00 p.m., Saturday at the Buddy Hartsell Tennis Center in Johnson City, Tenn.

ETSU (5-7, 3-0 A-Sun) enters the contest after sweeping both of its opponents last week. The Bucs dominated Campbell 6-1 last Friday, before extending its home match winning streak to 45 straight victories at the Buddy Hartsell Tennis Center against Winthrop, Tuesday. Overall ETSU has won four of its last five matches and boast the highest individual ITA ranking - senior Enrique Olivares (Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela) No. 11 - and team ranking in the A-Sun. Individually, Olivares along with sophomore Grega Teraz (Mojstrana, Slovenia), leads the Buc attack. The senior captain has now won five straight singles matches, while Teraz was recently named one of the league's notable performers Wednesday.

UNF (9-5, 4-2 A-Sun) comes into the contest after hosting five straight home matches. The Ospreys have recorded wins over Mercer, Kennesaw State and Wichita State, before dropping to Winthrop and Elon. Individually, UNF is led by sophomore Graham Edgar who posted a 4-1 mark during the North Florida homestand. Currently Edgar, along with junior teammate Ronnie Sang, picked up two doubles wins giving the UNF pair seven victories on the season.

ETSU leads the all-time series with North Florida 3-0. In the two school's history on the court ETSU has yet to drop a single match winning all three contests 7-0.

Jacksonville (10-4, 4-2 A-Sun) enters the match on a roll winning its last three contests. The much improved Dolphins picked up victories over league foes Kennesaw State and Mercer in addition to dropping non-conference powerhouse Navy. Individually, Fransico Riverroll leads the JU offense with a 10-2 record and a 5-1 mark in A-Sun action.

ETSU leads the all-time series with Jacksonville 5-0. Like the Bucs history with UNF, ETSU has yet to drop a single point to the Dolphins.

With the possibly of inclement weather in the Tri-Cities area over the weekend attached above is the schedule for both matches in case of rain.
