The ETSU women's basketball team will be honored with a special halftime ceremony during the men's game versus Wingate Thursday night, as the Lady Buccaneers receive their 2008 Atlantic Sun Championship rings.
ETSU made history last season - becoming the first team in program history to earn a berth into the NCAA Tournament - and along the way the Lady Buccaneers smashed four school records. Throughout the 2007-08 season the Lady Bucs made some noise by knocking off SEC contender Alabama, snapping Jacksonville's program-record 17-game home winning streak, and blasted in-state conference rival Belmont by 43, 102-59.
