JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (June 3, 2009) - ETSU men's soccer coach Scott Calabrese announced Wednesday that the Buccaneers have signed goalkeeper Scott Rosman (New Orleans, La.) to the team's 2009 recruiting class. Rosman will join the team in the fall and is eligible to play during the 2009 season.
Rosman, who has spent the last four years at Clemson and graduated last spring, has one year of eligibility remaining and will bring a wealth of talent and experience to the ETSU roster. A multiple award winner and honoree at the prep level, Rosman played four seasons with the Tigers and has faced some of the top competition in the country while playing at the Atlantic Coast Conference school.
For a program entering just its second year of existence with a relatively young, inexperienced squad, Rosman's arrival is a welcome addition. He will compete this fall with sophomore goalkeepers James Holt and Cade Jones for the starting job.
"We are very happy to have Scott join us this fall at ETSU," Calabrese said. "I know Scott very well from having coached him at Clemson. The way in which he trains, plays and conducts himself on and off the field will be a big addition to ETSU as both a soccer program and school. Having played in the ACC for the past four years, Scott comes well prepared to deal with the demands at the A-Sun level. His experiences of having reached the final four and sweet 16 at Clemson will be invaluable as we move forward as a program."
