JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 12, 2008) - The ETSU men's soccer team fell to UNC Greensboro at the Elon Classic Friday afternoon at Rudd Field in Elon, N.C., 3-1.
The Bucs (2-2) held the Spartans scoreless in the first half, but Matt Strine put UNC Greensboro (1-3) on the board in the 50th minute as he scored off of a Sven Picton pass to give the Spartans a 1-0 lead.
UNC Greensboro added another goal in the 77th minute as Jokull Elisabetarson scored on a penalty kick to give the Spartans a 2-0 advantage.
ETSU cut the UNC Greensboro lead to 2-1 in the 79th minute as Jaron Westbrook (Round Rock,
The Spartans would put the game out of reach in the 82nd minute when Tim Masters scored off of a Jokull Elisabetarson pass to make the score 3-1 UNC Greensboro.
