JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (August 25, 2011) – The ETSU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics volunteered to help new and returning students all across campus during Move-In Day activities on Thursday.
Members of ETSU athletic teams as well as staff members helped unload vehicles carrying clothing, refrigerators, microwaves, and other numerous items into the ETSU residence halls.
“Move-in day is a great way for our staff and student-athletes to help greet the incoming students and create awareness of ETSU Athletics,” commented Sara Hacker, Director of Marketing and Corporate Development. “This is also a time for our staff and teams to come together and give back to the university.”
Classes start this Saturday, while both men’s and women’s soccer play home matches this weekend in Summers-Taylor Stadium. The women’s team hosts Tennessee Tech on Friday at 7 p.m. and the men’s squad kicks off their season against Presbyterian Saturday at 6 p.m. In addition, the volleyball team begins their 2011 campaign this weekend in Greensboro, N.C.
