Goalkeeper shuts out NKU
MACON, Ga. (Oct. 22, 2012) – Redshirt junior Ryan Coulter (Dublin, Ireland) earned his fifth shutout of the season last week against Northern Kentucky, and was named Atlantic Sun Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
Coulter made three saves against the Norse on Friday for his second consecutive shutout. The win boosted ETSU’s record to 4-1 in A-Sun play, tying ETSU with Mercer for first place. In ETSU’s five conference games, Coulter has allowed just three goals to accumulate a GAA of 0.60.
The award is the fourth of Coutler’s two-year Buccaneer career, and his second this season. Coulter’s other A-Sun Defensive Player of the Week selection this season came the week of Sept. 4.
USC Upstate’s Dani Alvarado split the defensive voting with Coulter, also earning this week’s honors.
